PORTFOLIO HOLDER NOT INTERESTED

as front line staff face redundancy and services are cut.

On Monday 1st October Unison, on behalf of the residents of Harrow, called in the Cabinet decision to implement the Public Realm (PRISM) Full Business Case which would result in front line operational staff being made redundant and reductions in the refuse collection fleet. Astonishingly the Portfolio Holder responsible failed to attend to justify his actions. This is the same Portfolio Holder that did not attend the Cabinet meeting when the business case was presented for a decision.

Having failed to engage with the workforce over the two and a half years he has been responsible for these services, he did not even have the courtesy to attend in person but instead merely provided a written statement which we believe was woefully inadequate. Therefore, Unison is seeking the views of members and the boroughs residents.

If you live in harrow and have concerns over these cuts, please contact the branch office on 020 8424 1795.
