Has Harrow Council gone rogue?

The announcement last month by the new Leader of Harrow Council, Cllr Susan Hall, that the current Chief Executive Michael Lockwood and the post of Chief Executive is to be axed signifies the final nail in the coffin of Harrow Council, an organisation which seemingly has laid to rest its core values of fairness, legitimacy, transparency and equity and has chosen to follow a rogue path of self-destruction which has caused embarrassment in the national media and further tarnished the reputation of the organisation bringing down the morale of everyone within it.

Harrow UNISON Local Government Branch has reviewed the data supplied by Harrow Council regarding its controversial and high profile plans to cease locking the borough’s parks. 

UNISON have also monitored the information supplied to residents through the press and have discovered that the Council has provided misleading data which we believe has been designed to downplay the impact of what the plans may mean in reality to local residents.

UNISON SEEK ACAS INTERVENTION OVER FAIRNESS AT HARROW COUNCIL ONCE AGAIN

On the 4th June 2013 Harrow UNISON representatives successfully sought ACAS intervention again surrounding the poor and unfavourable treatment that has been levied against lower graded staff by the new Administration of Harrow Council.

CHILDRENS SERVICE MUST CONSULT WITH UNISON ON SPECIAL NEEDS TRANSPORT (SNT)

Due to the dramatic change in Harrow Council’s Cabinet recently, the successful UNISON ‘Call-In’ in which challenged the original decision to outsource Special Needs Transport (SNT) 3 project on the 29th April 2013, finally resolved last week that Children’s Services must now engage meaningfully and consult with UNISON, service users and other stakeholders over the worrying plans to outsource SNT.
