HARROW COUNCIL UNISON REFUSE MEMBERS TO BALLOT OVER PAY AND CONDITIONS

Hard working UNISON members in Harrow Council’s Waste Service, 99% of which are all UNISON members, have requested support from Harrow UNISON after being subjected to the most appalling process conducted within Harrow Council’s ‘Towards Excellence’ Project.

UNISON members will undertake an indicative ballot week commencing 10th March 2014 to gauge the level and strength of feeling in a move designed to protect them against a proposal by Harrow Council which they believe is a direct attack on their terms and conditions.

UNISON members are totally frustrated by the treatment received and believe that they have experienced an erosion of their terms and conditions through a probable breach of the collective agreement, have been excluded from the job evaluation process to save Council money and have not received the same consultation rights and equivalent treatment afforded to other employees in the Environment and Enterprise directorate.

It appears the impact is falling directly on the shoulders of Waste Operatives and Drivers alike. Harrow Council has been informed of this indicative ballot and results will be announced by Harrow UNISON next week.
