Training - Workplace Health and Safety Inspections

There is a requirement in Health and safety law that workplaces are monitored on a periodic basis to ensure compliance with statutory requirements. Inspections can be carried out by management and/or workplace

representatives and this proactive measure is best practice to ensure accidents and injuries are avoided. This course provides the candidate with detailed guidance on legislative requirements in particular the Workplace (Health Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 as amended. It also provides the candidate with practical knowledge regarding the identification of typical hazards within their own working environment and the steps to be taken to address these hazards.

Learning outcomes

Candidates will be able to conduct workplace inspections utilising a variety of checklists. Candidates will know where to obtain additional help and information to assist them. Candidates will know what to do in the event of hazardous situations and the informal and formal notification procedures.
