Training - Risk Assessment

A risk assessment is nothing more than a careful examination of what, in your work, could cause harm to people, so that you can weigh up whether you have taken enough precautions or should do more to prevent harm.

Risk assessment is the methodology that underpins all decisions about health and safety.

The governing legislation is the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, which require all employers to carry out an assessment of risk by a competent person. This risk assessment training course examines what is meant by Hazard, risk assessment, the basic principles of risk management, and the HSE’s recognised five-step approach to successful risk assessment.

Learning outcomes

Candidates will be able to identify risks to themselves and other employees in the workplace and put together basic assessments to ensure that injury is avoided.
