Training - Violence at work

This course provides awareness of potential high risk situations and occupations together with practical guidance on avoidance techniques.

Learning outcomes

Candidates will be aware of the basic controls and procedures to ensure safe working practices are followed to avoid situations which may lead to violence. Candidates will also have an appreciation of the legal requirements which employers have to maintain to ensure that the risk of violence at work is avoided and prevented.

• Legal and other standards for prevention and control

• identifying hazardous situations/risk assessment

• The need to keep records

• Classification of incidents

• Preventative measures

• Environmental factors

• Training and information

• Safely withdrawing from confrontational situations
